Where has the time gone? I did not intend to let so long pass between thoughts/updates. But some where between between the additional training & cross training time and trying to tend to my family through a recent rash of children suffering injuries (including a concussion and broken bones among others), time has just skipped right by.
Anyways, one way I like to periodically vary my kata training outside of class is doing what I call the 3 x 3 Drill. I pick three random kata to work on, each one three times. However, I try to confine my movements to a three foot by three foot area. This often restricts your ability to move normally as you would in kata and re-evaluate the transitions you make. A neat little tool to bring out and utilize every now and then and well worth just giving it a try.
